Shannon Center Adult Program

Students are eligible to enter the program if they are 22 years old by September 1st.

-> Class meets Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

-> Low student-teacher ratio

-> Students participate in a variety of social activities

-> Students continue their academic education

-> Students participate in a volunteer work site weekly

-> Students step out into the community to become well-rounded individuals

Curriculum

In the Adult Program, students continue their academic education by attending the following classes: Functional Reading, Functional Math, Fine Arts, Health & Wellness, Daily Living Skills, and Community Based Instruction. In addition, the students volunteer weekly at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.  At this site, our adults are given the opportunity to learn various office skills and customer service roles in a “team” atmosphere.
