Infant and Toddler Stimulation Program
The Infant and Toddler Stimulation Program provides families with a comprehensive parent training program that enables them to be active participants in their child’s education from the beginning.
Children may enter this “center based” program at 3 weeks of age and it is designed to benefit children until 36 months of age. Parents, caretakers and/or guardians will meet with the Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist once a week for a session lasting for one to one and half hours. During that time the adults are taught practical and specific infant and toddler stimulation in the areas of fine and gross motor skills, communication, cognition, and self-help to use with their child at home.
Options to determine eligibility for this program:
-> Eligible children must be identified as “at risk” or exhibit mild/moderate developmental delay and meet eligibility criteria for intervention services covered by Part C or Medicaid. Current service authorization from Early Steps needs to be on file in the school office to provide services to families covered by Part C or Medicaid.
-> Eligible children identified as “at risk” or who exhibit a mild/moderate developmental delay may enter the program as tuition paying students.
