Established in 1977 as a private, non-denominational, 501(c)(3) non-profit school, The Learning Experience School (TLE) is the only program in South Florida that offers children and adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities an uninterrupted education from infancy through adulthood. Research and experience point unmistakingly to the fact that developmentally disabled individuals have vast potential. Carefully planned programs of learning can not only prevent secondary handicaps, but can expand each student’s growth and abilities.
As it has from the beginning, TLE continues to practice sequential, theory-based, developmentally appropriate teaching at each level of a child’s or adult’s life. TLE is a strong, historically sound educational facility in the Miami community. As a collective and powerful unit, the administration, faculty, students, and families continue to create history and build a bridge into a rich and satisfying tomorrow.
